I recently had an echo scan for chest pain and the only thing to come back was a bav that is functioning normally. Can an echo rule out my chest pain as cardiac, my bp is very good and i am 27 yo. i heard of a person who had chest pain every now and then died from an enlarged heart that turned out to be an abnormality or something ? he was a semi pro football player. i am just too scared to go running or play sports…
Most patients with BAV do very well and don’t need special treatment:

Sudden death in athletes is very different situation and your ECHO would have an enlarged heart:

None of this applies to you!
Hope this helps,
