Question:
Hello Dr T,
I have sporadic and noticable PVCs mostly unrelated to exercise and RBB always shows up on my EKGs since the age of 24 (I am now 44). I get a lot of cardio and exercise in general. So far so good, but it sounds like the combo of PVC and RBB isn’t harmless. Could you explain why RBB increases the “threat” of PVCs? Thank you.

PVCs before, during or after exercise, are no threat unless your echocardiogram shows left ventricular ejection fraction below 40 or you have right bundle branch block on EKG. Patients with PVCs often have a higher prevalence bundle branch blocks. If you have a normal heart otherwise, you don’t have to worry about it.
