Hi Alex,
You probably measure your heart rate in the gym with one of those machines, often very inaccurate!
Here is more info about heart rates:
https://www.cardiachealth.org/your-heart-rate
https://www.cardiachealth.org/ca-blog/target-heart-rate-and-rbbb
I am almost 68 yo, and my heart rate reaches 170bpm on the elliptical trainer (reality about 130).
Therefore, if you have no symptoms, or troublesome side effects, you don’t need to worry. If you still are, calculate your risk for heart disease here:
https://www.cardiachealth.org/app/risk-assessment.php
If that is not enough, ask your doctor for a Holter monitor and a stress ECHO:
https://www.cardiachealth.org/heart-information/palpitations#holter

Hope this helps,
Dr T
