Question:
Good evening, I have a question on a recent 24hr holter test. During this test I had spent most of the day in bed. I had been going through a very stressed time and i didnt have much sleep the night before. I had the holter put on in the morning , had a 20min walk home and went straight to bed. I really only got up to putter around the house for short amounts of time. The results did however show very frequent pvcs (14, 000 of them) Could my not doing much that day possibly affect my holter results and from possibley not picking up other types of dangerous arrhythmias . I am just worried that I messed up the results. Thank you for any advice.
Hi Jackie,
Of course; your activities influence the results of your Holter monitor test. However, they showed frequent Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) even while at rest. Like with any new-onset palpitation or arrhythmia, they need to be further analyzed by a cardiologist.
You can read more in this blog: Strange increase in my PVCs.
Hope this helps,
Dr T
